PDO Cog Thread Lift
A PDO Cog Thread Lift is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure used for facelift-like effects.
"PDO" stands for polydioxanone, which is a biodegradable synthetic polymer. In this procedure, PDO threads with small barbs or cogs are inserted under the skin using a fine needle.
These threads lift and tighten sagging skin, providing a subtle and natural-looking lift.

About PDO
This is a facelift done without surgery to lift and tighten the skin of the face, It is known as the ‘no blade facelift’. PDO COG threads can be used to redefine the contours of the face and tighten the skin. PDO threads can be used independently as a stand-alone procedure or in combination with other treatments. More Information About
PDO COG Threads
COG THREADS can treat just one area to a full-face lift.
Full-face consultation is required before treatment to work out treatment goals & pricing
PDO COG threads are used to induce collagen production in the skin and define the facial contours. They can provide immediate results that continue to improve peaking at 3-6 months and lasting 18 months -2 years
Thread lifts for the full-face cost around £1500 and is less expensive than a traditional surgical facelift. Smaller areas start from £500.
You can have another thread lift once the face drops back to its original position. This can vary from person to person, but some peat thread lifts after 1-2 years to maintain the result.
A thread neck lift can easily be performed in conjunction with a face thread lift or on its own. It helps to contour the neck and help create a more defined jawline.
After a PDO thread lift you should avoid touching the entry points for 24 hours until they seal. You should avoid wearing make-up for 24 hours and driving alcohol as well as getting facials or facial massages.
A COG PDO thread lift is customised to your skin texture, type, and aesthetic goals. The face typically takes three threads on each side and two threads on each side of the neck. Depending on the degree of lift, skin tightening and rejuvenation of the skin different threads are used.
COG thread lifts have been around for years but have recently gained popularity thanks to the alleged use of them by celebrities like Bella Hadid, Kendal Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski.
Thread lifts are non-invasive and are low-risk in the correct hands. There is a low risk of scarring, severe bruising, bleeding and bleeding. Rare complications include irritation, infection and the sutures being visible under the skin.

About Mono/Smooth Thread Lifts
As we age, the effects of gravity become more noticeable on our faces. The supporting tissue weakens and starts to sag, facial fat is lost, the jawline that used to be firm and tight jowls at the edges of the mouth that drift down towards the chin, and the lower face and neck sags.
This sagging or dropping action of the tissue is referred to by doctors as ptosis (pronounced toe-sis) and we can start to see this naturally-occurring process beginning in our 30’s (deep sigh!).
Traditionally, this tendency for one’s face to start to go ‘south’ would lead most people to a cosmetic surgeon in search of a facelift; however, there is now a less invasive procedure available which can lift, contour and suspend the sagging tissues of the face and neck; in those people who need only little to moderate rejuvenation.
Mono threads are a type of PDO filament which can be inserted into the skin in a mesh-like pattern, to help increase skin tightness. The procedure is known for being minimally invasive.
These can be used alongside cog threads & other treatments such as skin boosters, fillers & Botox or standalone treatments.
A crucial benefit of this treatment is that it also stimulates the regenerative cells and growth factors that produce collagen – the body’s natural protein for keeping skin taut, fresh, and youthful. That means your skin will be naturally reproducing itself for months after the injections
The procedure works by lifting things like sagging skin tissues by inducing collagen production through the filament inserted into the skin.
Once inserted into the skin, the threads activate collagen synthesis to gradually tighten and rejuvenate the skin.
This provides the skin with a tighter feel and appearance and more of a youthful look. Typically, around 10-30 mono threads are used to treat an area. There are different types of thread procedures which are non-surgical alternatives.
Smooth or Mono threads can be used to improve the texture/ quality of skin in troublesome regions such as lower cheeks and perioral regions that can become bulky with dermal filler treatments, again by stimulating the body’s own collagen production leading to continued improvement for months after the treatment itself has been undertaken.
We can also achieve tightening of tissues under the chin- the typical ‘turkey neck’ or loose ‘double chin’ again using mono-threads by stimulating the body’s own collagen and also with a process of lipolysis whereby we actively breakdown the excess fat tissue that tends to accumulate in this region (by placing these threads in a slightly deeper position in the skin).
Mono threads can be used on the forehead, and around the eyes to give a slight lift to the brow area The face, neck, décolletage, arms, tummy, buttocks, legs A free consultation is required.
Patients may experience minimal pain during this procedure which can be numbed with local anaesthetic, and some tenderness may be experienced after the first few hours but this is a lot less than what a more complex surgical face-lifting procedure would cause.
This a more convenient, quick and safer treatment to many surgical procedures whilst still delivering the best results.
PDO Cog Thread Lift benefits
PDO Cog Thread Lift is a cosmetic procedure that involves the use of PDO (polydioxanone) threads to lift and tighten sagging skin on the face or other areas of the body. The procedure is considered minimally invasive compared to traditional facelifts and offers several potential benefits:
Non-surgical solution: PDO Cog Thread Lift provides a non-surgical alternative to traditional facelifts. This can be appealing to individuals who want to rejuvenate their appearance without undergoing major surgery and experiencing the associated downtime.
Collagen stimulation: The PDO threads used in the procedure stimulate the production of collagen in the treated areas. Collagen is a protein that contributes to skin firmness and elasticity. As the body naturally absorbs the threads over time, the newly produced collagen helps maintain the lifted and tightened appearance.
Immediate lift and results: Patients often experience an immediate improvement in the tightness and lift of the treated areas. While the full results may take several weeks to manifest as collagen production increases, the initial lift can provide a noticeable enhancement.
Versatility: PDO Cog Thread Lift can be used in various areas of the face, such as the brows, cheeks, jowls, and neck. It can also be applied to other parts of the body where skin laxity is a concern.
Gradual and natural-looking results: The results of PDO Cog Thread Lift are typically gradual, allowing for a more natural-looking transformation. This is in contrast to more drastic changes that may occur with some surgical procedures.
Minimal downtime: Compared to traditional surgical facelifts, PDO Cog Thread Lift generally involves less downtime. Patients can often resume their normal activities relatively quickly, although some temporary swelling or bruising may occur.
Long-lasting effects: While the threads themselves are eventually absorbed by the body, the collagen stimulation can have longer-lasting effects. The duration of results varies among individuals, but some people may enjoy the benefits for several months to a year or more.
